Menus help with navigation within the portal. Menus can be connected
within one another. A subordinate menu reacts to a selection made
in the superior menu.
Properties
A tree menu can display any number of levels. Where the level of display begins depends on how the menu is linked to additional menus. The individual branches can be shown or hidden.
A tree menu has the same properties as a container. Furthermore, you can modify the appearance of menu items after setting the background, borders and offsets in the
properties dialog.
A tree menu has a total area on which the menu items will be displayed. For this area, you can set the background on the properties page for
Menu background.
Next, you can set the background for the individual menu items on the properties page
Menu / Menu items.
Element settings
In addition to
ID, Title and
Role, you can define the
Menu content here.
First, select the option
Content from portal menu structure, which provides the content for the drop-down menu.
With a newly created portal, the menus
Standard, Mobile, and
Quicklinks are available to you.
In
Content from superior menu element, you can select an additional existing menu element,
which will take over control of the tree menu.
In the
Symbols area, you can include individual images, which will then represent individual points in the menu structure,
with this
symbol. If you have already selected symbols via the properties
assistant, these images will be entered here. They can be replaced with your own images according to your requirements.
Properties
A flat menu can only show one level. Where the level of display begins
is dependent on how it is linked to other menus.
Properties
In the properties you will first define the arrangement of the menu items. In this, you may choose between horizontal and vertical alignment.
Element settings
The settings here correspond to the settings that can be defined for the Tree menu. Additionally, a submenu can be selected; this can be controlled from by the Flat menu.
A drop-down menu consists of a flat main menu and popout windows, which
will be shown when a menu item contains subordinate menu items and the
mouse is moved over the main menu item.
Properties
As with the flat menu, you can select whether the menu points are aligned horizontally or vertically in the
properties dialog.
Element settings
The settings here correspond to the settings that can be defined for the Flat menu. Additionally, a submenu can be selected; this can be controlled by the Drop-down menu.In
Advanced options, you can define the depth of the dropdown menu. If, for example, you have 5 levels in a
menu structure, you can show levels 1 and 2 with the dropdown menu, while the submenu that you enter here takes over the
display of the other 3 levels. In
Image for submenu with children you can, by clicking on this
symbol, select an image that will be shown for submenus. The image will be displayed as soon as a submenu contains further submenus.
A vertical menu can be implemented if you require a menu point presentation that saves space, e.g. for mobile devices. This menu type behaves
responsively meaning that it adjusts itself accordingly to the various display sizes. The distance between the
Start symbol and the menu points can be specified using the
top and
left properties of the
#Container_Menu_Dropline .menuopenclose selector.
Element settings
As well as the usual settings, which can be specified for the other menu types, you'll also see the
Append application menu option. With this option, the pages, which are included in the
application menu, are displayed as submenu points - provided the user has the appropriate permissions.
In the
Additional options area, you'll find the following settings:
- Close menu completely upon click on application link
Closes the entire menu when a menu point in an application menu is clicked on.
- Close open menu folders with second click
If a menu folder is clicked on a second time, then it will be closed.
- Only one open menu path allowed

- Only one open menu path allowed in the first level
In the first level, menu paths not currently selected are closed.
- Highlight selected menu point
Writes an additional class called selected that can be designed accordingly. The class can for example for used for special events.
- Close menu upon click away from menu
Closes the menu when the user clicks on a display area that doesn't belong to the menu.

In the Row menu, the menu points of all levels are depicted horizontally in the same format. It can be implemented if you require a menu point presentation that saves space, e.g. for mobile devices. This menu type behaves
responsively, this means that simply the
Start symbol is shown in smaller display sizes. The menu points can be opened by clicking on that link.

In the Block menu, the menu points of the first level are depicted horizontally, the rest are depicted vertically. It can be implemented if you require a menu point presentation that saves space, e.g. for mobile devices. This menu type behaves
responsively, this means that simply the
Start symbol is shown in smaller display sizes. The menu points can be opened by clicking on that link.
