General Properties of Buttons

The Button button type will be displayed as a button in the end device. With the Text setting, the button will be shown as a text link. With Image, an image of your choice can be loaded, which the user can then click on in order to execute the button action. Action control for mobile end devices is an option used for navigation with mobile Webkit browsers.

On the left-hand side of the dialog, the lower area will show an overview of the current configuration of the button. By clicking one of the links, the relevant settings will be shown in the properties dialog, from which they can also be edited.

Button Type

If the Button button type is selected, the following settings can be made in the Options:

If the Static text option is chosen, a fixed title may be entered in the edit field, which will be shown in the browser as the button title. Title from data field will use the value of a data field as the title.

If the setting Show text if access permissions are insufficient is activated, a message will appear if the user possesses insufficient page or data group permissions, notifying him or her of this condition.

With the setting Show "empty" if value does not exist, the word “Empty” will be shown in the case of a null value.

With Adjust height / width on Button Text, the size of the button will be automatically adjusted corresponding to the size of the text.

Text

If the Button button type is selected, the following settings can be made in Text:

If the Static text option is chosen, a fixed title may be entered in the edit field, which will be shown in the browser as the button title. Title from data field will use the value of a data field as the title.

If the setting Show text if access permissions are insufficient is activated, a message will appear if the user possesses insufficient page or data group permissions, notifying him or her of this condition.

With the setting Show "empty" if value does not exist, the word “Empty” will be shown in the case of a null value.

With Adjust height / width on Button Text, the size of the button will be automatically adjusted corresponding to the size of the text.

If the button type Text is selected, the type of Wordwrap can be controled. All information on this topic can be found here:

Image

With the Static image setting, the fields Image and Image on MouseOver allow images to be loaded by clicking on Edit.

By clicking Remove, a reference to an image will be once more deleted. With the arrow buttons the selected image in Image /Image on MouseOver can be copied. Edit alternative text opens a dialog in which the static text, or text from a data field, can be entered, which will be shown as alternative to the image in browsers that cannot display images.

If you click OK here, the button will be created. The size of the image will then be adjusted to the size of the button. With the Set original size context menu item, you can show the image in its original size.

Instead of a static image, an image may be used from a data field. This image will be used for Default Image and Default Image on MouseOver.

If the data field possesses no value, the image entered under Static Image will be used.

If the setting to Show text if access permissions are insufficient, if insufficient page or data group permissions exist, a message will be shown that will make the user aware of this fact.

Images from digital cameras always have the same aspect ratio. If a photo is taken upright, the motif will later be shown in a horizontal position in the image. As a rule, cameras possess a position sensor. Instead of rotating the image correspondingly, they will write the positioning information to the image. With the setting to Reposition rotated images, the positioning information will be evaluated by Intrexx and rotate the image if required.

With Maximum size, the image size will be limited to the number of pixels for Width and Height that you enter to the corresponding fields.

Crop image allows the width and height of the imageto be adjusted to the aspect ratio of the button. If the additional setting Scale up smaller images is selected smaller images will be enlarged up to the given maximum size.

Optimize file size for thumbnails has the effect of reducing the file size with the goal of speeding up the load time of the application page.

Adjusting the control size for the maximum size has the effect of, when changing the button size on the workspace, the current width and height will be entered automatically to the general properties. If this setting is not chosen, these values and the size of the control will not be synchronized on the workspace.

Action control for mobiles

For the Action control for mobiles setting, you can define whether the title of the button should be entered as Static text or if it should be loaded dynamically from a data field.

For both settings, you can define the type of Wordwrap in the lower area. All information on this topic can be found here:

http://docs.intrexx.com/intrexx/version/6000/api/css/whitespace.redirect

For Navigation with mobile Webkit browsers, you can enter whether the target page will be shown from the right (a level lower) or left (a level higher).

If the title is to be loaded from a data field, you have the ability to set here whether the user is to be sent a corresponding message upon insufficient access rights.

With the setting to Show "empty" when value does not exist, the expression "empty" will be output for null values.

Options

Here you have the ability to activate the Conditional display of the button.

““ This setting is only available if the Expert Options in the menu Extras / Options are activated on the tab Applications.

By clicking on Edit condition, the script editor will be opened, in which you can formulate a statement, which will assign the conditions under which the button is to be shown.

The behavior of the button can be set for the use on touchscreens here, too. With the setting Enable swipe gesture the button can be triggered via the touchscreen. In the selection list you can choose if the button has to react on a swipe gesture to the left or to the right.

Export

For view tables, free layout tables, and the research element, there exists the possibility to export the data records contained within them by clicking on a button underneath the table. If the user clicks on the button in the end device, a dialog will be shown in which the export formats can be selected. In the Application Designer, the settings for this button can be edited via the properties dialog for the table. In the Table selection list, all view tables and free layout tables can be selected here that are located on the current page and show data from the same data group. At export, the data records for the selected table will be exported. For the research element, only the results table of the research can be selected; the selection of other tables on the page is not possible here.

Underneath, in the Preset column, define which export option should be preselected in the browser popup. The following formats can be defined: By clicking Edit template, the title of the template - which can be entered in multiple languages by clicking Multiple languages - can be changed.

By clicking Add template, the additional context menu items List, separated by separator, and User-defined template are available.

If you select one of the context menu items, the corresponding entry in the export list will be filled in. By clicking on Edit template, a dialog will be opened in which the properties can be edited.

For User-defined template, a Velocity file can be selected here that creates the export.

In Display title, you can select whether the titles of the fields should be added to the export file in the first line. Selecting Never will cause the titles not to be exported. Never as default offers the user, in an export popup, the ability to activate the inclusion of the titles. With Always, the titles will be added to the export file. Always as default shows the setting to add Field titles as first line as already activated in the browser.

With Remove HTML, HTML formatting marks will be removed from the text. The options Never, Never as default, Always, and Always as preset are also available here.

Only export currently displayed data gives you the ability to decide whether all data records, or only the data records shown in the table will be exported.

In File name without extension, e.g. export, addresses, … a name can be preset for the export file. Do not add an extension to it, as this will be automatically attached to the file depending on export format.

Remove template removes a template from the list. With the arrow buttons, the order of the templates can be changed.
